ODD TOGETHER
Welcome to the Oddkins Guild
You’re odd. You’ve been called “trouble” and so much worse. You’re willing to take risks which mostly explode but sometimes they’re magical. You know you can’t heal this collective trauma from your silo but getting with other messy people is overwhelming. You wish you could merge the folks who want to do social justice work with the folks who commit to personal growth with your down-to-earth gaming buddies because all the code switching is exhausting. You’re done with trying social groups based on identity because they’re boring. You think living in right relationship sounds amazing, but you don’t have the spoons to make it work.
Welcome to the questing group. This is an experiment.
“Staying with the trouble requires making oddkin, that is, we require each other in unexpected collaborations and combinations, in hot compost piles. We become-with each other or not at all…Alone, in our separate kinds of experience and expertise, we know both too much and too little, and we succumb to despair or to hope, and neither is a sensible attitude.”
Donna Haraway, Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin with the Chthuluthcene
The Oddkins Guild offers a virtual community room where things are designed to move much slower so we can do the real work of building right relationship with ourselves, each other, and all creation. We offer virtual events you can attend on the recording date or on demand. We offer communal art projects. We encourage you to attend anonymously, to lurk and linger and learn.
Land & Labor Recognition
Digital Safety
We acknowledge that much of our work takes place on the territory and ancestral lands of the Kalapuya people. We also acknowledge our debt to enslaved people whose labor and suffering built and grew the economy and infrastructure of a nation that refuses to acknowledge this history of dehumanization and enslavement. We are inviting you to take a moment to reflect on whose land you are living and working and if you do not know, to research and reflect. Learn more about the native lands you reside on.
We’re deeply concerned about your digital safety and accessibility. We do not use cookies. We encourage you to use a private browser and/or a VPN when using our website. Feel free to attend our events anonymously. If our website is not functioning on your adaptive tech, please let us know.
We do not accept government funding, and we do not ask for or collect any data that is not required for paperwork we are filing on your behalf. We rigorously protect your confidentiality in every way we can.
